Trap Tox is the injection of Botox or Dysport into the trapezius, the large muscle that runs from the base of your skull across your shoulders and down your upper back. Relaxing it does two things at once: it relieves the chronic tension so many people carry in their shoulders, and it visually softens a bulky or elevated shoulder line, creating a longer, more elegant neck.

Part 2: Botox for Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

What is Botox for sweating, and how does it work?

If you sweat through shirts regardless of temperature, soak your hands before a handshake, or avoid certain clothes entirely, you may have hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating that has nothing to do with heat or exertion. Botox treats it by blocking the nerve signals that switch on your sweat glands. No signal, no sweat, in the treated area only. It's one of the most life-changing treatments we offer, and it's dramatically underused by men.

Where can you get Botox for sweating?

• Underarms (axillary): the most common area, and the one Botox is FDA-approved for
• Hands (palmar): for sweaty palms
• Feet (plantar): for sweaty feet
• Scalp/hairline: for those who sweat through their hair

How long does it last, how many units, and what does it cost?

• How long it lasts: typically 6–12 months per treatment, far longer than facial Botox
• Units: underarms generally take around 50 units per side (about 100 total); hands and feet vary

Does insurance cover Botox for sweating?

This is the number-one question, and the good news is that hyperhidrosis has better coverage odds than most Botox uses. Because Botox is FDA-approved for severe underarm hyperhidrosis, some medical plans do cover it when antiperspirants haven't worked. It is also typically FSA/HSA eligible.
