Quick Answer
Lymphatic drainage massage in Austin at Banyan & Bamboo is manual lymphatic drainage: light, rhythmic, directional strokes that move lymph fluid toward the nodes so swelling, puffiness, and bloating clear. It is booked for water retention, puffiness, sluggish immunity, the heavy, tired feeling after travel or illness, and recovery after non-surgical treatments such as body contouring. $160 for 50 minutes or $210 for 80, on South Lamar in 78704. We do not offer post-surgical lymphatic drainage at this time.
Start With What You Feel
What you feel
Puffy eyes and face in the morning, rings that fit tighter, ankles that swell by evening.
What the session does
Directional strokes move stalled fluid toward the lymph nodes, where it drains. The face, hands, and legs look and feel lighter the same day.
Lymphatic Drainage, 50 minutes
What you feel
Swelling and tenderness after body contouring or other non-surgical treatments that slows the result from showing.
What the session does
Gentle drainage clears the fluid that collects around treated tissue and supports the recovery timeline. Surgical recovery is outside what we treat at this time.
Lymphatic Drainage, 50 or 80 minutes, in a short series
What you feel
A tight, distended abdomen, water retention around the cycle, and a body that feels heavy after travel.
What the session does
Abdominal and inguinal drainage moves fluid out of the core, and the rhythmic pace settles the nervous system, which helps digestion do its job.
Lymphatic Drainage, 80 minutes
What you feel
Frequent colds, a foggy head, and fatigue that sleep does not fix.
What the session does
The lymphatic system carries immune cells and clears waste. Moving it manually supports both, and most clients sleep deeply the night after a session.

The Banyan & Bamboo Standard
How It Works
The lymphatic system is the body's drainage network: a web of vessels just under the skin that collects excess fluid, waste, and immune cells and carries them to the nodes to be filtered. It has no pump. Lymph moves only when muscles contract, when you breathe deeply, and when the skin above it is stretched in the right direction.
Manual lymphatic drainage is that stretch, done deliberately. The therapist uses light, rhythmic strokes, about the pressure of resting a hand on the skin, in the direction the vessels drain, starting near the nodes to open the pathway and working outward. Deep pressure would collapse the vessels; the lightness is the technique. Sessions typically begin at the neck and collarbone, where the whole system drains, then move to the face, abdomen, or limbs depending on the goal.
The effect is fluid that was stalled moving again. Swelling reduces, puffiness clears, and because lymph carries immune cells, the system that fights infection runs better. After non-surgical treatments such as body contouring, moving that fluid away from treated tissue supports the recovery timeline, which is why it is so often paired with them.

Pricing
Fifty minutes covers the face and one region. Eighty covers the full body, which is what bloating and treatment recovery usually need.
Treatment recovery is usually a series of 3 to 6 sessions. Banyan Luxe members receive 5 to 10 percent off every session. Membership details.
What to Expect
Step 1
What you are treating and your medical history. Some conditions rule the session out, and we check every time. We do not treat clients recovering from surgery at this time.
Step 2
You lie comfortably, lightly draped. The work starts at the neck and collarbone, then moves to the areas you named. The pressure is light and rhythmic, and most clients drift off.
Step 3
Drink more water than usual for the rest of the day and expect to use the restroom more often, which is the fluid leaving. Swelling continues to reduce over the next 24 to 48 hours.
