Quick Answer
Laser hair removal uses light to heat the hair follicle and slow regrowth for long-term hair reduction. Our Rohrer Spectrum 810 nm diode handpiece treats large areas quickly, and the long-pulse Nd:YAG covers the darkest skin tones. The service launches October 2026 at our South Lamar (78704) med spa, performed by our fully laser-certified team, led by Brittany Cantu, AME, under Medical Director Dr. David L. Sneed, MD. Pricing is published at launch, so text 737-321-8182 to join the laser waitlist or book a laser consultation.

What you notice
Shaving stubble by the next day, razor burn, and dark dots where hair sits under the skin.
What the treatment does
The large spot size and up to 10 pulses per second let the diode cover full legs in one efficient appointment.
Patients who want to skip the razor for good on large areas.
What you notice
Ingrown hairs, irritation, and the cycle of waxing and regrowth.
What the treatment does
Contact cooling keeps sensitive areas comfortable while the laser targets the follicle at the root.
Patients with coarse, dark hair in these zones, which responds well to laser.
What you notice
Upper lip, chin, sideburn, or beard-line hair that needs constant attention.
What the treatment does
Precise passes with the right wavelength reduce hair while protecting the skin around it. Ingrown beard hairs often improve.
Patients with hormonal chin hair or men who want a cleaner neckline.
What you notice
Hard-to-reach areas and hair you would rather manage once a series than every week.
What the treatment does
The diode moves quickly across large surfaces, so back and chest sessions stay short.
Men and women who want fewer hairs across a wide area.

Why a Series
The Science
The laser sends a pulse of light at 810 nm into the skin. Melanin in the hair shaft absorbs that light and turns it into heat. The heat damages the follicle so it grows back finer and slower, or stops for a long stretch.
The Rohrer Spectrum diode handpiece has a large spot size, built-in contact cooling, and fires up to 10 pulses per second. That combination is what makes full legs and backs practical in a single visit. The cooling tip protects the skin surface while the light does its work below.
Only follicles in the active growth phase respond, and at any moment only a portion of your hair is in that phase. That is why plans typically run 6 or more sessions spaced several weeks apart. Your laser team times each visit to your hair cycle and the area being treated.

Treatment Plan
Every plan is a series. Session count and spacing depend on the area, your hair, and your skin tone. Pricing for each area is published at launch in October 2026.

What to Expect
Step 1
We review your skin tone, hair color, medications, and recent sun exposure, then choose the diode or the Nd:YAG. Light, grey, and red hair carry little pigment and respond poorly, so we tell you that up front.
Step 2
For darker, tanned, or sensitive skin, we treat a small patch and check it before the first full session.
Step 3
Shave the area within a day of your visit and skip waxing or plucking for several weeks before. Contact cooling runs the whole time. Most patients describe each pulse as a quick warm snap.
Step 4
Expect mild redness for a few hours. Use daily sunscreen, avoid tanning, and let treated hair shed on its own over the following weeks. We book your next session at the right interval.
Safety and Skin Tone
The laser targets melanin, and skin has melanin too. On darker skin tones the 810 nm diode can heat the surface, so we move to the long-pulse Nd:YAG at 1064 nm. That wavelength passes deeper with less absorption at the surface. Every darker skin tone gets a test spot before a full treatment.
Avoid tanning beds, sun tanning, and self-tanner for two weeks before each session. Tell us about photosensitizing medications, recent acne medications, active skin infections, or pregnancy. We may pause treatment or adjust settings until it is safe to proceed.
Laser treatments are performed by Brittany Cantu, AME, our lead laser provider with 20+ years of laser treatment experience and results, alongside Sami and Dani, who both hold full laser certifications. Every treatment is overseen by Medical Director Dr. David L. Sneed, MD.
