Quick Answer
Banyan & Bamboo in South Austin (3005 S Lamar Blvd #D-112, 78704) runs its med spa under written standard protocols adopted in September 2024 and overseen by Medical Director Dr. David L. Sneed, DO (Texas License F4549). Every injectable patient has a Good Faith Evaluation and signs informed consent before the first treatment. Providers start low and adjust at a 2 to 4 week follow-up. Hyaluronidase and an emergency kit are kept on site, adverse events go to the medical director the same day, treatment rooms are disinfected between every patient, and your records stay in a HIPAA-compliant medical record for at least seven years.
Why We Put This in Writing
A good result isn't only about the injector's hands. It's about what happens before the needle: the questions asked, the reasons a treatment might be wrong for you, and the plan for the one visit in a thousand that doesn't go as expected.
Texas lets a med spa run with a medical director who never sets foot in the building. We chose the other way. Our practice runs on a written set of standard protocols, adopted in September 2024 and reviewed yearly, under a physician who reviews our charts and takes the call when a provider has a question.
It's the quiet half of the Natural-First Standard. Starting low only works if someone is checking the work.

The consultation comes first, every time
What We Hold Ourselves To
Each one comes straight from our practice protocols. If you want the long version, ask at your consultation.
01
Dr. Sneed is available to our providers in person or by phone, reviews at least ten percent of patient charts every two weeks, signs off on every adverse event report, and reviews our protocols at least once a year.
02
Before your first injectable treatment you have a Good Faith Evaluation: your health history, medications, allergies, and life stage, reviewed by a licensed medical provider. It can be in person or virtual, and it's repeated if anything changes.
03
You'll see the risks, benefits, and alternatives for your specific treatment in writing and sign before we start. You can ask for a copy, and you can ask for a different provider at any time.
04
Our protocols call for the minimum effective dose, conservative dosing for new patients, and a follow-up at 2 to 4 weeks. We'd rather add a little at your follow-up than overdo it on day one.
05
Hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid filler, is kept refrigerated on site along with an emergency kit. Our vascular occlusion protocol is written out step by step, and the first call for any suspected allergic emergency is 911.
06
Treatment rooms are cleaned and disinfected between every patient and at the end of the day. Needles are never reused, and a monthly facility safety walk-through checks sharps handling, hand hygiene, and fire equipment.
07
Your chart lives in a certified electronic medical record under HIPAA, kept for at least seven years. Before and after photos go in your chart; we only share them with your separate written permission, which you can withdraw.
08
We don't decide who's a candidate by eye. If your Good Faith Evaluation defers a treatment, your case goes straight to Dr. Sneed for a final evaluation. If the answer is wait, we say so and build a plan for what's appropriate in the meantime.

From Our Protocols
Your First Injectable Visit
01
Photo ID, health history, medications, allergies, and your consent forms. About ten minutes.
02
Before photos go in your chart so you and your provider can measure what changed.
03
The Good Faith Evaluation confirms the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
04
Your provider walks through risks, benefits, and alternatives. You sign, then we begin.
05
Conservative dosing by protocol. Aftercare instructions go home with you in writing.
06
Two to four weeks later we check your result, take after photos, and adjust if needed.
Treatments are spaced about six weeks apart as a rule, and we do one service per visit so each result can be judged on its own.

His license is posted in reception and in every medically supervised treatment room, and you can verify it yourself through the Texas Medical Board.
